Monthly Hiking Tour

June 11, 2022 9:00am - 10:00am

Putnam Parks & Pathways will begin hosting a Monthly Hiking Tour Series that will highlight a variety of local trails, nature preserves, and parks. Guided by a professional in their field, each hike will consist of learning about some type of wildlife, native plant, or other nature-oriented discussions. This month’s hike will be held at Owl Trail, at the Glenn Flint Lake Woodland.

The hike will pass through a large grove of trees that is 20+ years old. We will pass a seasonal pond and view a large pollinator planting.  We will discuss future plans for the trail. A number of years ago the trail was open to school visits, Owl Trail(Glenn Flint Lake Woodland) is owned by the Little Walnut Creek Conservancy District. The timbered property south of Glenn Flint Lake is now closed to public access from Sept. 1 to March 1 of each year. This closure is to protect the public since the property is now leased for seasonal hunting. The entrance to OWL Trail is straight across from 5306 West County Road 375 North.
