Weed Wrangle

August 23, 2023 9:00am - 11:00am

PC RIP, as it’s known around the county, or the Putnam County Remove Invasive Plants group hosts regular “Weed Wrangles” throughout the year but mainly in the fall. Free to attend and open to anyone, these small group gatherings focus on clearing out non-native and invasive plant species in an effort to create a more sustainable habitat within our parks and trail systems. While it is “work” there is a ton of fun happening during these events as well as educational aspects. Members of Putnam Parks & Pathways, Putnam County Soil & Water, the City of Greencastle, and other nonprofits and government organizations come together during these events and bring their knowledge with them.

There is no registration or sign-up, and everyone is welcome to join in and help out. The locations of the events change each month but the time remains the same, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. See below for the location schedule. If you are interested, contact Putnam Parks & Pathways at, hello@putnamparks.org for additional details or simply to RSVP to a specific event.

  • August 26: Jaycee Park
  • September 23: Vandalia Trail
  • October 28: Tansy Well Nature Park
