Providing affordable and adorable clothing, the Rustique Boutique carries small through 3X women’s boutique styles, accessories, home decor, and top-notch customer service.
Bethany and Michelle, a mother/daughter team, might be called wanderers. After starting The Rustique Boutique in a storefront, they renovated a 20′ enclosed trailer (think UPS truck with a stunning dressing room in the back), changed their business model to a mobile store and began participating primarily in festivals and pop-up events.
“It exploded into such a fun business venture for us,” Michelle said. “It incorporated our love of travel and clothes.” And while the open road was, and still is, attractive to this duo, the mobile store soon was more often parked outside a brick-and-mortar location in Rockville, used for sale-priced items. Now, the enterprising team has wandered east, back to their hometown of Bainbridge, and opened the current iteration of their retail journey.
Today, the trailer does double duty as a sales room at this Putnam County location when it’s not on the scenic roads of West Central Indiana, “popping up” at venues with crowds interested in women’s clothing and accessories. If the open road is your thing, the boutique’s Facebook page carries a calendar that lists where the mobile store will appear.
If shopping online is more your style, in addition to its two stores and mobile unit, Rustique Boutique meets its growing demand through Facebook Live events and website sales. For those wanting to shop and order from home, shipping is a flat $5 fee per order, unless otherwise arranged, and all in-stock orders are shipped within three business days. The store’s website is here.
“We strive to provide affordable and adorable clothing,” Michelle said. “We carry small through 3X women’s boutique clothing and accessories and provide top-notch customer service.” The Bainbridge store is easy to find, just east of town off State Road 36, offering backpack purses, shoes and sneakers, infant and toddler clothing, hats, sweaters, t-shirts, a full array of jeans, locally made lotions and bath products, jewelry, and home accessories like candles by the Hoosier Candle Company and farmhouse-style hand-painted signs by nearby C&M Designs, in addition to incredible selections from Clay County’s Family Fudge Company.
