For more than four decades, guests have enjoyed home-style meals, and an incredible maze of salad and entree bars, at this family-owned and operated Greencastle eatery.
The Putnam Inn was built in 1972 by the parents of the present owners, who have kept the family tradition of home-style cooking at a reasonable price as their trademark.
In a relaxing atmosphere, with a scrumptious buffet with more than 50 delicious items from which to choose, The Putnam Inn offers a large selection of beverages including bottled and draft beers, wines and cocktails.
Famous for broasted chicken, served fresh since 1972, the entree vies with the Inn’s handmade cinnamon rolls in terms of the number of rave reviews. Then, there’s also the hand-breaded pork tenderloins, famous for their meaty flavor, and known to attract maybe half of the regulars.
At the buffets, guests build their own signature salads with a wide variety of veggies and toppings and, if there’s room, end the meal with a wide variety of desserts, including homemade Bread Pudding made like Grandma used to make. Top it off with soft-serve ice cream and you will definitely remember this spot.
