For the final time this season, the Greencastle Farmers Market opens in the shade of the east side of the Courthouse Square and closes up at noon, with the sun overhead. The Market will open again next year in mid-May and continue every Saturday through early October. Admission is free.
An easy 10 minutes straight south down State Road 231, is the Cloverdale Farmers Market, also open 8 a.m. to noon. Obviously, each hosts different growers and artisans. Combined, the two make for a robust Saturday morning of fresh air, fresh produce shopping and “communiversity.”
For those who run out of their favorites by mid-week, the Bainbridge Farmers Market is there — every Wednesday, 4 – 7 p.m., on the Bainbridge Town Green, just 15 minutes north, in the heart of Putnam County farm country.
