The Dunbar and Oakalla covered bridges are in the center of Putnam County, and Oakalla is just down the road from 3 Fat Labs Resort. It gets its name from the former Oakalla Station along the old Big Four Railroad. A Burr Arch bridge built in 1898 by Joseph J. Daniels, it’s 16’ wide, 14’ high and 152’ long, with 15’ overhangs.

Nine historic covered bridges make the Putnam County countryside both educational and relaxing. Uniquely beautiful in spring and fall, traveling the bridges is particularly fun for motorcycle and bike riders.
