Walkable from downtown Greencastle, the 25-acre Robe-Ann Park features an Olympic-size swimming pool with water slide and diving well, the Emerald Palace super playground, picnic areas, lighted ball diamond, lighted tennis courts, a skate park, and paved pathways.

Its new bandshell, at the bottom of one of the Park’s rolling hills, is home to the weekly summer music series, ParkFest, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018. Robe-Ann includes lots of picnic tables and three shelters, home to many family, organization and public events. Admission to the Park is free.

Greencastle parks also include

* The 80-acre Big Walnut Sports Park, with 10 soccer fields, three little league baseball diamonds, three girls softball diamonds, an adult softball diamond, an NCAA/Babe Ruth baseball diamond, several of which are lighted for evening use. The park is home to a 19-hole disc golf course through rolling hills and woods, the Keith Carr Basketball Court, a dog park, the Joanne Haymaker Pine Grove, three picnic shelters and a 1.28-mile perimeter walking pathway.

* DePauw University Nature Park, with more than 520 acres along Big Walnut Creek, providing 8.7 miles of hiking trails, rock climbing, canoeing, and a host of outdoor educational activities, in addition to a welcome center, a field station, an amphitheater, and the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics

* The 22-acre Jaycee Park, with a fishing pond, picnic areas and shelter house. All are open to guests with no admission charge.
