Ed Chambers Horsemanship / Turning Point Equine Center

Equine clinics, lessons, boarding, 72 acres of trails, an incredible indoor arena and pen, and Ed himself make Turning Point a horse college riders keep returning to.

Master Clinician Ed Chambers has built the state-of-the-art Turning Point Equine Center to accommodate his many clinics, courses and lessons. His 78 acres includes an insulated, heated barn with a 100×200’ arena, 50’ round pen, 27 oversized horse stalls, tack and feed rooms, and wash stalls. The property includes bunkhouse-style cabins, for customers staying overnight, and scenic riding trails.

In addition to a variety of equine education, Turning Point offers horse boarding, providing owners access to great trails, use of the indoor and outdoor arenas, as well as to round pens and pastures. Boarding stalls are custom built, roomy, safe and easily cleaned. Horses in training have individual turnouts with shelters.

Education includes a full-day Cow Working Clinic, in September and November; an intensive three-day Partnership Clinic that builds coordination between horse and rider; both one- and two-day Horsemanship Clinics to improve riding skill levels; a Trail Clinic that helps horse and rider better enjoy trail riding; Ground Work/ Round Pen/ Hobble Combination Clinics that focus on flexibility, patience, communication, and respect; and a Mini Clinics Open House, a free, family event with short demonstrations on equine massage therapy, horse soccer, farrier science, and equine dentistry, as well as a tour of Turning Point Equine Center.

Both group and private lessons are offered, in weekday and Sunday options, for beginners as young as four and as continuing ed for riders of any age. All are reasonably priced and customized to riders’ goals and needs.

Ed has worked with all types and breeds of equines – from mules to sport horses and various stock and gaited breeds – for more than 35 years in a wide range of disciplines, including Fine Harness, Roadster, Saddle Seat, Halter, English Pleasure, Park, Dressage, hitching and driving, and western performance.

The name of his facility has meaning. Ed believes the gentle approach and natural methods he developed over the years help horses and owners develop a more natural bond between them. When this happens, it is a true ‘Turning Point’ for both.
